there's been two terrible accidents in Grand Rapids in the past couple months have have brought much undue negative attention to the Grand Prix community in Grand Rapids.
The first incident was a kid in our club named Max. Max was street racing against another vehicle on 52nd street in Kentwood, at 4pm, in a school zone. Max was going well over 100mph when he lost control of his GP and smashed into oncoming traffic. Max was relatively unhurt, while the other driver was in critical condition, and his life may never be the same. Charges were filed, warrants were issued, and Max is sitting in jail right now. Lord knows how long he'll be put away for. All we can do is pray for him, and pray for the other driver.
The most recent happened only a couple nights ago. A girl named Amanda from Newaygo with a bad habit of speeding and racing (as evidenced by her myspace page), was racing down Alpine Ave near 6 mile road. She lost control of her Grand Prix, flipped it, and was ejected. She was the only injury in the accident, but she is in critical condition at Butterworth in a medically induced coma. She was not a member of our club, but due to Max's accident, it casts a negative shadow on modified Grand Prixs in Grand Rapids.
